As 2025 draws to a close (can you believe it?), a beautiful way to bring the year to a close is by thinking about and reflecting – with gratitude – on God’s faithfulness and all He has done for us.
It’s so important to remember not only the many ways God has blessed us in the past year, but also to remember the grace, wisdom, peace, and comfort He has faithfully lavished on us during the hard times. This honors the Lord and builds up our faith!
I will remember the Lord’s works;
yes, I will remember your ancient wonders.
I will reflect on all you have done
and meditate on your actions. (Psalm 77:11-12)
If you keep a prayer journal of some sort, this will be easier for you. I like to flip through the pages, recalling the sometimes hard, often challenging, and also special and joyful times of the past year, praying as I go and thanking God for the grace to endure, for all He has provided, and for His constant love and faithfulness through it all.
If you don’t keep a journal, a good way to remember is to scroll through the photos in your phone month by month, remembering the hard times God has faithfully brought you through and the good times He has graciously given.
Either way, the point is to remember and meditate on God’s faithfulness at work in our lives, and to cultivate gratitude/thankful hearts. As we do this our love for and trust in our Lord increases, and that is priceless!
I hope that using the simple End of Year Reflection printable (below) will help you recall God’s faithfulness in 2025. Don’t rush. Take time. Make a cup of tea, find a cozy, quiet place and time and allow yourself to remember and focus on the One who has faithfully brought you through.
May the Lord orchestrate a sweet time of remembrance, and may gratitude swell in your heart as you reflect on the past year.
