Hi Friends,
I hope the beginning of 2026 finds you well. Because December is a full (or flat crazy) month in the Gillies household, I have kept the January edition of the Write and Pray Scripture Challenge short. The theme is Goals and Direction, in keeping with what many of us ponder as the new year dawns.
This month’s challenge is shorter, but it will be no less meaningful. You can pray over each verse for two days instead of one and still come out ahead. I have included a brief prayer in this month’s challenge that will help as you consider your goals and the direction the Lord has for you.
Let’s all remember to hold our goals and plans loosely, entrusting them entirely to the Lord. As Proverbs 16:9 reminds us:
A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.
Let’s remember that when our plans are interrupted, our goals shifted, or if nothing in 2026 looks anything like we hoped or thought, God remains faithful. He is sovereign – over all the earth and in our little lives. Our Lord Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And He is on the throne of our lives, working all things for our good.
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)
