WELCOME to the SEPTEMBER Write & Pray Scripture Challenge! This month we are focusing on our WORDS. Could your lips use a little fine-tuning? (Hand raised here!)
Our words matter. With our words we can encourage and lift hearts or by our words we can cause a world of pain, confusion, and heartache. While “no one can tame the tongue” (see James 3:7-8), and though we sometimes fail, our goal should always be to honor God with our words.
Let’s approach this challenge with humble hearts dependent on Almighty God to do what only He can do. If “out of the mouth the heart speaks” (see Luke 6:45) then let’s ask Him to purify our hearts so that our words are pleasing to Him and an encouragement to those around us.
My prayer for us all this month is that the Lord will use this time meditating on and writing and praying His Word to refine our hearts and words so that they continually honor and please Him.
May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable to you,
Lord, my rock and my Redeemer.
