WELCOME to the OCTOBER Write & Pray Scripture Challenge! If you’re walking through a season of loneliness, whatever the reason, know this. God sees, He cares, and most importantly, He is with you.
God intends for us to live in community. He gives us family, friends, church community, and neighbors. But sometimes circumstances change or just aren’t ideal. And sometimes we can be surrounded by people yet still feel lonely. We will probably all walk through times of loneliness. Especially now with everyone so locked onto their devices and social media, real friendships and authentic camaraderie are not as commonplace as they once were and still should be.
When my husband and I pray together each night, one thing I continually remind myself of as we pray is that we are not alone because Jesus is Immanuel, God with us. I don’t know about you, but I need to remind myself of this daily.
What an encouraging truth to hold on to when our hearts ache with loneliness. This means that if we’ve lost our spouse, our best friend or adult children, or if we battle feelings of loneliness in a hard marriage or life in general, we are never truly alone. The One who stepped out of heaven to secure our forgiveness and salvation is near. He is faithful. He knows the longings of our hearts. And He is with us.
This month, you will find 31 meaningful Bible verses to encourage your heart and remind you that you’re not alone. I Pray that the truth of God’s Word, which is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, will penetrate and lift and comfort your heart. May the risen Christ help you grasp more deeply the beautiful truth that you aren’t alone, because He is with you.
